More credit than his due?

If he misspelt the word on purpose, than he is due, otherwise I think I just over-accredited Mr. Oliver for creative (ironic?) spelling:

... the guys who write the JSP engines not the jeniuses who think they're OOP masters because they learned JSP and use it for everything ... [Hacking Log 2.0]

emphasis is mine.

Re: What happened to female programmers?

As a sort of side-note, I have known many women in the computer industry; mostly working as Testers, Documentation, and Graphic Design. I started as a Tester myself, and this requires a different skillset but a definite understanding of the technology under the gun! Where am I going with this? I have no idea. Re: The Tyranny of the Hierarchical File System

John Munsch points to newdocms, a non-hierarchical, properties-based file storage idiom. Perhaps it is just my atrophying brain, but looking at the example Save As dialog, this looks like *more* work to me. I guess it is nice to have an alternative, but I doubt I would use this. Btw, What happened to female programmers?

Btw,What happened to female programmers.? Did i miss any female bloggers on the technology section or am I the only girl here.Looks like programming is not glamourous to girls of this generation.

I'm trying to think of *any* female programmers I've known... I can think of one (Hi Milla, if you're reading this). So it was nice to read Chiara's blog, I like what she has to say!

Later: I forgot Karin, sorry. Anyone else I miss (from my personal experience, that is)? That was over 4 years ago that I knew both... ( Jan 10 2003, 08:04:03 AM ) Technology Permalink Comments [1] [Link]

It's really very simple

Erik asks J2EE security - am I missing something? Depending on how you are implementing your pages, I can think of a couple (hackish?) ways. However, I'm writing on a dying laptop, so I'll have to post more tomorrow. ( Jan 09 2003, 10:24:07 PM ) Technology Permalink [Link]

Ooo, I like this idea

Russell does it again

I was thinking about including comments in my RSS feed and searches. That way anyone commenting here becomes One with my Blog.

Let's add this to Roller's Feature List as well! ( Jan 09 2003, 10:10:29 PM ) Roller Permalink [Link]

Sorry for the disruption

Out of sympathy for Niel I've reset my Java.Blogs settings, which has caused several older posts to reappear. Sorry folks. Actually I think this may be fixed by a recent checkin to Roller that I made (there, I tied this post to Roller so it'll show up on java.blogs in accordance with Niel's preferences). Beef-up Roller's RSS Support?

Don't get me wrong, I think Dave did a great job crafting a rss.vm (Velocity template) for generating the RSS feed. But I think it only supports one version (RSS 2.0?). Perhaps Jason Bell's new toy, RSSLIBJ, could help us respond with whatever format was requested (can the requester specify which version of RSS they want?).
