Intel processors stolen from Heathrow airport I hadn't heard about this, but then I find I've been "news-challenged" since starting this job (or is it since I started blogging?).

My name is Lance, but you may call me Mr. Vane Cool, I finally have a moniker. And pretty close to what I would have chosen myself. For the record, my relationship with my wife is *not* founded on misunderstanding, it is merely a major component of the relationship (believe me, it extends beyond the "professional" aspects).

Eclipse VeloEdit Found a great new tool, Velocity UI for Eclipse. I tried it out on the velocimacros I've been working on for Roller, and it spotted several errors immediately. Nice! Feature request? Please add a "show line numbers" option, and some of the other options from the Java editor. Thanks go to Torsten Juergeleit!

Lucky Bastard Ovidiu is going to work for Google. Of course, luck has nothing to do with it. But I think most everyone envies him the opportunity to work for such an interesting company. And I've heard good things about how they treat their employees. Successful and friendly, a nice combination. The Bliss of marrying outside the clan:
I like reading AOC, he sounds so much like me when I have the courage to speak my mind ;-) Really, this sounds just like my wife and I. She's a theatre professional (Lighting Designer and Operator), and I'm a trained "brain squeezer." I did my undergrad in Psych, and part of a PostDoc in Neuroscience - but somehow ended up trying to make computers understand me. But back to the topic, I often tell people that it works this way for us: Some days I come home and tell her of the frustrations/excitement at work, and she nods politely and pretends to understand. On other nights she comes home and tells me of the frustrations/excitement at work, and I nod politely and pretend to understand. And in this way we keep each other happy.

Rotten Morning I can't read any FreeRoller accounts (db connection appears to be down), and RaibleDesigns is out of commision as well. Guess that means I should get to work ;-( Update: they're both available again More credit than his due? If he misspelt the word on purpose, than he is due, otherwise I think I just over-accredited Mr. Oliver for creative (ironic?) spelling:
emphasis is mine. |
