While I am not an expert on Velocity I would have to agree with you Lance. I think Velocity is great for basic HTML presentation but doesn't cut when you want to do some more complex stuff. I like the ColdFusion combines a template (Velocity) like syntax with custom tags (like JSP). I also think JSP 2.0 will eliminate a lot of the weak points of JSP 1.x and give a nice balance between template like syntax and custom tags.
